Branding the Recovery

aara_logo_2It’s official: the Obama Administration is embracing design in a progressive way that demonstrates how fresh and provocative new government can be. Although there are risks involved in developing logos and images for nations to stand behind, this movement to create many images that illustrate where the dollars of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) are going is refreshing.

Not only are there new logos, but also there are new associated websites creating new avenues for understanding the efforts put into and the effects of ARRA.

obama_transportation_emblem_2Take, for example, the DOT’s new logo and website—further evidence of how the New White House is going the extra mile to make government accessible and understandable for citizens who are looking for leadership and community in a cloudy economic environment.
